RSIPF clarify delay of COVID-19 allowance for police
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operations Support (NSOS) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Ian Vaevaso has refuted the media reporting on Solomon Star front page yesterday (5 May 2022) has misleading and has no truth.
There is no plan by RSIPF Officers to conduct sit-in protest nor a full-blown strike as a result of the delay of payment for the COVID 19 Allowance to RSIPF officers.
The RSIPF officers have been informed earlier of the reasons for the delay of payment of the Highly Contiguous Disease Risk Allowance (HCDRA) for police officers.
“I believe the media reporting was only done by very few unruly officers who are only trying to tarnish the good image of RSIPF and the excellent work of every RSIPF officers' faithfully serving in this nation.”
He says, “Officers to refrain from making unnecessary comments on media, which of course is a serious breach of the Commissioners Order on Media. Any breach of RSIPF policy will be investigated and officer/s found involved will be subject to discipline.”
