Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro Police Station in Choiseul Province are investigating an alleged unlawful damage of Government property at Wagina village. The unlawful damage incident occurred on 8 May 2020.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province Superintendent Vincent Eria explains, “An initial report into the incident alleged that a male person from Araiki village went to the new police post and damaged the main door of the Wagina Police Station.”

The suspect was arrested on 10 May 2022 and remanded at Taro police station for further dealings.

PPC Eria says, “Wagina Police station building is a Government Property and individual members of the community in Wagina Island should take good care and respect this property. To build a police station costs a lot of money and all must be responsible to look after and respect such properties.”
