Police arrests two suspects in Central Province for assault incident

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province have arrested two suspects following an assault incident that happened at Toa village, small Ngella on 27 May 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province Superintendent David Soakai says, “The victim and his pregnant wife and their four year old child went to the garden. Whilst the victim was busy brushing his garden the two suspects approached his wife with bush knives in hand threaten the wife and child that they will murder her husband.”

PPC Soakai explains, “The suspects went straight to where the victim was and one of them punched the victim in the face and as result he fell on the ground. The suspects then beat the victim whilst he is on the ground till the victim was lying helplessly before they left the victim. The victim sustained serious injuries from the attack.”

Police at Tulagi attended to the report and both suspects were arrested on 29 May 2022.

Both suspects were placed in police custody and investigations are continues.
