Maka Police Station soon to be built
The recent visit of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Ms Juanita Matanga to Maka Police Station is an assurance to the community that the police station will be built very soon.
DC Matanga said though the station is down but let me assure the communities served under Maka Police Station that construction will happen soon and I ask you to be patient.
Ms Matanga said please do understand the challenges we have been through during the COVID-19 community transmission is real and it set back some of the development aspirations of police in the country.
She said it is quite challenging during the State of Public Emergency (SoPE).Now the SoPE has been lifted, hopefully the construction will start soon.
As part of the visit to Maka Police Station, DC Matanga had a discussion with Officer In-Charge (OIC) look after station on police business matters and she also talked with the Area Administrative Officer who looks after the Afio substation on her visit to Maka.
DC Matanga also thanked the officer for his work to support the health during the COVID-19 community transmission. The visiting team also had some time to visit the Maka old police station and its old houses.
The OIC also talked about some of the challenges faced by his office during the visit which the visiting team is keen to know and look at.
