RSIPF officers headed to Australia on exchange program with AFP

Two Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers have travelled to Australia to participate in the ‘AFP & RSIPF Exchange 1/2022’ program with the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

Sergeant Arthur Saua and Constable Moses Wawari from the RSIPF’s National Response Department (NRD) will have the opportunity to experience AFP specialist training in a wide range of operational areas in Canberra.

Over the course of three weeks, the officers will undertake training in areas including Close Personal Protection (CPP), specialist support, bomb response, Tactical Response (TR), Discreet Operations (DO) and canine operations.

The RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) facilitated the two officers to join the program. Sergeant Saua and Constable Wawari will be able to learn from the expertise of various AFP teams.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the two RSIPF officers to develop their skills and observe training methodologies and innovations that they can share with their colleagues once they return.

Sharing skills and experiences between the RSIPF and AFP has great benefits and the RAPPP is committed to continue to offer this experience to other interested officers.

The exchange program is a wonderful opportunity for the officers to bring back a wealth of knowledge to share with their colleagues at home.

This experience will see RSIPF officers gaining greater knowledge, understanding and experiences of AFP specialist training, techniques, practices and operational readiness, preparedness and deployment.
