RSIPF will conduct Bomb blasting in Western Province

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team will be conducting a bomb blasting operation in the western province.

Officer In-charge (OIC) EOD Team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki said the task will be conducted at Balallae Island in the Shortland Islands on Saturday 27 August 2022 from 8am to 4pm respectively.

OIC Tunuki said this task came about in relation to UXOs that were reported to police by the communities. The task will occur on the mentioned day and timings only along with certain roadblocks on the Island and on coastal waters.

Inspector Tunuki said police urge our local communities in and around Balallae and outboard motor operators to keep out from the Island while the operation is in progress.

Mr Tunuki call on the communities in Shortland Islands and Choiseul Province to report any bomb or any suspicious sighting of a bomb to EOD whilst the team is on the ground.
