Supervising Premier CIP Mr James Galini encourage police officers to put good use of their training

Supervising Hon Premier CIP James Galini present his remarks during the closing program

Supervising Premier of the Central Islands Province, Honourable James Galini has encouraged Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) during the closing ceremony of Public Order Management (POM) Training in Tulagi on 16 September 2022 to make good use of the training.

Supervising Premier Mr James Galini said I am pleased to know that this is the beginning of much training to come. The physical fitness of officers is important as part of the physical fitness and readiness to respond to threats from public or private individuals.

Premier Galini said the two weeks training may be too short but fruitful and satisfying. This is the completion of the formal two weeks training but you are expected to continue on with your private physical training at your own time.

The Honourable Premier Mr Galini said this occasion is important as it highlights a new era of police capability support through training to our Police Officers in Solomon Islands by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).It upskilling Provincial Police Officers in POM tactical response and Close Protection Procedures and Tactical Response.

Mr Galini said a Police Officer is indeed a special vocation; you are trained as an enforcement and ethical officer to stand apart from the rest. I must stress here that your professional and ethical conduct matters as the eyes of the public are upon you. Nobody is above the law but subject to the laws of the land. As law enforcers – do not abuse the law for personal or individual benefits.

Outstanding participant during the two weeks POM Training who is still doing his two years probationers, Police Constable (PC) Brandon Bugoro said he is very proud to be among the six outstanding officers who were awarded during the certificate presentation.

PC Bugoro said he really liked how the CPLT conducted the POM training.

The training is very effective and practical. This will help me to do my duty efficiently when a situation arises. This training equips us mentally and physically.

Officer Bugoro said I am happy that the Supervising Honorable Premier encouraged us. As an individual officer it is my obligation to keep me fit. This is to prepare us to deal with tense situations in the line of police duties.
