Auki police investigate a dead incident South Malaita

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating a dead incident at liwe camp in South Malaita.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr Leonard Tahnimana said the Auki police investigation team has attended to a logging accident which involved a 47-year-old male deceased who works for Jubilant Company as a chain saw operator.

AC Tahnimana said it was alleged that the deceased was felling a log at that time of incident. It is alleged that a branch of a nearby tree attached to the tree that was being felled by the deceased broke and hit him on the head resulting in an instant death

Mr Tahnimana said the deceased was taken by Police to Rohinari clinic for medical examination and thereafter repatriated to his home village in West Kwaio. Police in Auki are still continuing with this investigation.

AC Tahnimana conveys his condolences to the immediate family members for the loss of their loved one.
