Deputy Team Leader, China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) Ji Yong and Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr. Leonard Tahnimana pay a courtesy visit to Isabel Province Premier Rhoda Sikilabu on 13 October 2022.

During the visit, Premier Sikilabu extended a warm welcome to the CPLT to Buala and thanked the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC) police for providing the training to the officers in Isabel Province.

Premier Sikilabu said this is the first time for the Chinese to conduct professional police training for RSIPF officers in Buala. Such training will support and enable officers to meet the current changing demands of the workforce so that the RSIPF achieves its strategic development objectives.

Ms Sikilabu appreciates China's assistance, especially when she knew that all the equipment would be distributed to the local police after the training. These equipment are very important for improving the self-defence capabilities of the police and strengthening security on the Island.

Supervising AC Tahnimana highly commended the previous training program conducted by CPLT. Recent training in the outer Islands has made significant progress, and the Chinese police are very professional and efficient, and the training of local police officers will surely be fruitful.

AC Tahnimana said this training is not only a manifestation of deepening police cooperation between China and Solomon Islands, but also has profound practical significance. It assists staff members to broaden, deepen and further enhance their existing professional and technical skill to make this province truly safe isles.

Deputy Team Leader, CPLT Ji Yong shared his respect to the Premier Sikilabu and brief her on the training program conducted by the CPLT over the past eight months which achieved fruitful results especially the joint training demonstration held in Rove police headquarter which was widely acclaimed by the Solomon Islands Government and the RSIPF.

Mr. Ji said China police is much focused on strengthening cooperation with police enforcement and training in the outer Islands and he introduced the training program during the courtesy call.
