Rock throwing on the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) marked vehicles now has become a common practice in some hot spot areas in Honiara.

This happened after police marked vehicles were rocked over the weekend on 15 October 2022 at Tuvaruhu, Solomon Water area while officers attended to a common nuisance incident.

Another incident happened on 15 October 2022 at Talise bus stop when police attended to a disturbance incident and those suspects rocked the police vehicle and escaped.

There was no suspect arrested during the two rock throwing incidents. No person was injured and no damage to the vehicles.

RSIPF Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations, Ms Juanita Matanga said also another rock throwing to police vehicles at 777 bus stop at Zion area.

DC Matanga said this is not good to see few people involved in doing such activities to police. Police are there to help and enforce the law in our communities.

Ms. Matanga said the vehicles are very expensive and if it was damaged because of attitude problems then our taxpayers will have to pay for the damages. Please we need to shift our mind set to respect police vehicles.
