Police arrests two adult persons for traffic offenses in Honiara

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department (NTD) have arrested two adult person for traffic related offences in Honiara on 6 November 2022.

NTD Director Superintendent (Supt) Foufaka says, “The suspect was arrested after crashing onto a vehicle in front of him as a result the vehicle he crashed onto collided with a vehicle parked on the side of the road.”

Superintendent Foufaka says, “The incident occurred at Mendana avenue road in front of Pinnacle Enterprise Limited at Point Cruz area.”

Director Foufaka says, “It was alleged that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and had used another vehicle’s license plate number.”

Supt. Foufaka says, “Police charged the owner of the vehicle license plate number for Permitting to be used the said identification plate contrary to section 12 of the Road Transport Act. Cap131.”

Director Foufaka add: “The driver was charged with careless driving contrary to section 40(1) of the Road Transport Act. Cap131. Presence of Alcohol in Person’s Blood contrary to section 43A (1) (a) of the Road Transport Act.

Cap131 and Identification plate contrary to section 12 of the Road Transport Act. Cap131.”

Both suspects were bailed to appear before the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 29 November 2022.
