Police at the Naha Police station in East Honiara are investigating an alleged suicide involving an adult female at the Gilbert Camp settlement on the evening of Sunday 24 September 2017.
The deceased, believed to be from South Malaita, was pronounced dead on arrival at the National Referral Hospital.
Police was informed of the incident at mid-night of 24 September and investigations have started into the incident. The body of the deceased is currently at the National Referral Hospital morgue.
“Police are not clear at this stage on the reasons behind this sad incident but would like to call on members of the public in the Gilbert Camp settlement in East Honiara to come forward with any information that will assist with its investigation,” says Provincial Police Commander, Honiara Central Police Station, Alfred Uiga.
