Police investigates rock-throwing incident at Titinge

Investigators of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Henderson Police Station are investigating a rock-throwing incident that occurred at Titinge on 18 February 2023.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It was alleged that at 8am on 18 February more than 10 male persons on a vehicle were at Titinge when they used abusive words towards Titinge residence who in return swore back at them.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “It was further alleged that the vehicle left and later returned with the same group of people who were armed with bush knives and other objects. Upon arrival they threw rocks at houses, vehicles, church buildings and even assaulted an elderly person.”

Mr Mangau says, “A total of 12 individuals and their families are affected by what has happened. Two suspects were arrested, charged and released on bail. Other suspects are already identified and yet to be located whilst investigations into the matter are continuing.”
