A 22-year-old male person punch an adult person and died instantly in Guadalcanal Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested, charged and remanded a 22-year-old male person who punched an adult male person and died instantly at Tanasali village in North West Guadalcanal recently.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It was alleged that the suspect punched the victim with his closed fist and kicked the deceased as a result he died instantly.”
Commissioner says, “The victim and the suspect had an argument over a bottle of kwaso (homebrew). This is where the argument hit up and the suspect punched and kicked the deceased.”
Commissioner Mangau says, “The body of the deceased was transported to National Referral Hospital for post mortem and an autopsy report yet to be collected as investigation is continuing.”
Mr Mangau says, “The suspect was dealt with and charged for murder contrary to section 200 of the penal code. The accused was remanded and will appear before Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 6 March 2023.”
He says, “My condolences to the relatives of the deceased for the loss of their loved one.”
