Police arrests a 43-years-old male person for series of crimes

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa Police Station have arrested a 43-years-old male person for a series of crimes in Renbel Province on 13 March 2023.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Renbel Province, Inspector Eddie Peseika says, “The alleged suspect commits a series of crimes committed over the past three months.”

PPC Peseika says, “The first incident occurred in December 2022 in which the suspect struck his father on the neck with a kitchen knife and luckily his father defended himself and managed to escape the strike.”

Inspector Peseika says, “The second incident occurred in January 2023 where the suspect threw rocks at his father and sustained injuries. The suspect also used abusive words to his parents and siblings."

Mr. Peseika says,

“The latest incident occurred last month (February 2023) where the suspect destroyed and damaged his parent’s garden and valuable properties.”

The accused is charged with three counts. First count, act intended to cause grievous harm contrary to section 224 (b) of the Penal Code. Second count, malicious damage contrary to section 336 (1) of the Penal Code. Third count, threatening contrary to section 178 of the penal Code.

The accused will appear before the court on a later date.
