Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Kirakira Police Station have responded to six reported incidents that occurred during the Easter period at KiraKira town in Makira-Ulawa Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “It is good to see that most people celebrated this Easter peacefully and reflected on what Easter really is. However, there are few minor incidents that occurred throughout the Easter season, most of which are alcohol related.”

PPC Sitai says, “The incidents reported includes Domestic Violence, wilful and unlawful damage, common assault and common nuisance. Those who were charged will be dealt with accordingly.”

Superintendent Sitai says, “No major incidents were reported as the general situation was very peaceful. I want to thank the majority of Makira-Ulawa province for celebrating Easter peacefully.”

The Easter operation was a successful one, and I want to thank the good people of Makira for working together with the police and for having peaceful Easter celebrations.
