Police officially open the new recruits’ course 1/2023

A total of 66 new recruits were welcomed in an official opening yesterday (12 April 2023) at the Police Headquarters at Rove.

The Guest of Honour Honourable Minister for the Ministry of Police National Security and Correctional Services Mr. Anthony Veke and the Permanent Secretary Ms. Karen Galo Kale attended the official opening of the new recruit course.

RSIPF Executive, police partners and senior police officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) attended the program.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr Mostyn Mangau said the recruit course is named Titus Rore Recruit Course 1/23 and it consists of 43 males and 23 females representing all of the nine provinces.

Commissioner Mangau said the recruit course will run for eighteen weeks and they will go through an intensive training which is on theory and practical. Physical exercise is part of the training that they have to go through during the training.

He said the training course will be intensive which requires individual commitment and team effort. Therefore, the new recruits are urged to work as a team, helping each other and seek advice and guidance from L&D staff when there is a need.

Mr. Mangau said the training course comprises a number of modules covering a variety of topics. During the recruitment training program, other government institutions and non-government organisations will also be invited as guest speakers.

“I encouraged the families of the new recruits to support them during their training and to be strong to finish the training program. It will be very challenging but have courage to move on,” said Commissioner Mangau.
