Police investigates death of a young man after he fell off from a Hilux in Honiara

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station (CPS) are investigating the death of a young man after he fell off from a double cabin Hilux at Town ground area on 12 April 2023.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “The Hilux were travelling easterly direction from one of the beaches in West Guadalcanal until they reached the front of the British and Zealand High Commission Office main road the deceased fell off from the Hilux.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “The driver and others who were in the Hilux stop over and assist the deceased to National Referral Hospital (NRH). The deceased were pronounced dead by the medical authorities upon arrival.”

Mr. Mangau says, “Four suspects were identified and currently under police custody for questioning. A death inquiry file has been established for further investigation.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “My condolences to the relatives of the deceased for the loss of their dear son.”

“I appeal to those who might have any information about the incident to come to the police and assist our police investigators,” says Commissioner Mangau.
