RSIPF farewell three Kiwi Police Officers serve under SIPSP program

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Simpson Pogeava hands over the medal to Sergeant James Calvert.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have farewelled three New Zealand Police Officers who serve under Solomon Island Police Support Program (SIPSP) this week.

The three New Zealand (NZ) Police Officers were farewelled with a presentation of certificates of appreciation and international Operation medal to recognise their good work while supporting the RSIPF in crime prevention.

The NZ Police Officers serve under the SIPSP program way back in 2021 and their mission complete today as we witness.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP), Mr Simpson Pogeava said thank you very much for the hard work in supporting the RSIPF.

AC Pogeava said more especially on proactive approaches in supporting the National Community Policing Department (NCPD) to engage with communities in the Solomon Islands.

NCCP boss said big thanks to working closely with my NCPD team to develop the 5 step mind set program. This is a great investment which really helps RSIPF officers to have a right mind set before doing its duties.

Detective Sergeant (Sgt) Leanne Thomson behalf of the outgoing officers said thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to present us with our certificates. I would like to thank you for your continued support of the SIPSP program.

Sgt Thomson said we have been fortunate to deliver training to the provinces where we got to experience your beautiful country. We are proud of running a Family Violence course and for launching the Crime Prevention Strategy and for fostering a working relationship with Learning and Development and NCPD to gain better outcomes.

Detective Sgt Thomson said you have so many talented police officers at the RSIPF and it has been our pleasure to work alongside them. Thank you for having us as guests in your country.
