Sendoff service organized to pay respect to late Laekalia

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) organised a send-off service to pay respect to late police Superintendent Chris Laekalia at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral church, in Honiara on 5 May 2023.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Pogeava said, “The sad news of the passing away of late superintendent Laekalia is really hard news for us RSIPF organization, family members, relatives and friends.

AC Pogeava said, “I am lost for words to describe the sadness that all of us have experienced from the news of the passing away of one of our leaders.”

Mr. Pogeava said, “Late laekalia is a faithful servant working as a Commander for White Police Station till the day he passed away. He is a well-disciplined leader, led by example, who has become a role model for most officers who have worked under his supervision.”

He said, “The passing away of Laekalia denied his aspiration and satisfying career. Let me assure the relatives and friends that the RSIPF salutes him and will continue to remember the legacy he has left behind.”

AC Pogeava said, “His positive contributions to the RSIPF and his excellent leadership in the field of policing in the country is exceptional.”

“We valued so much his contributions to the RSIPF and the people of Solomon Islands. The length of time he served in the RSIPF was highly commendable and honoured by all ranks and files of the RSIPF for unselfishly serving the people of this country by enlisting into the RSIPF to protect life and property and to maintain law and order,” says AC Pogeava.

RSIPF saluted him for his service to the people of Solomon Islands.
