Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Noro Police Station have established a death inquiry file of the death of a 49-years-old male person in Western Province over the weekend.

Police have attended the incident where his body was found in a bedroom at his relative’s residence at Noro.

Noro Police Station received an urgent call from relatives at around 7am in the morning to attend to the report.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau said it was alleged that the deceased had been drinking with his wife on Friday and continued to drink on Saturday and went to sleep that evening.

Mostyn Mangau said on Sunday morning at around 5am he was found dead. There were no signs that would suggest that the incident is suspicious as there were no signs of bruises or fractures.

Commissioner Mangau said police will continue to investigate and establish the cause of the death.

Condolences to the immediate family members and his friends for the loss of their loved one.
