Police investigate death of a 12-year-old boy in Central Province.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi are investigating a suspicious suicide incident of a 12-year-old boy over the weekend.

During the Commissioners weekly press conference, Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr. Ian Vaevaso says, “The suicide incident has happened in a living room of a family house where he was reported hanging himself.”

“It was alleged that there was a shoelace rope found tied to the deceased's neck and the other end tied to a louver frame of the house. The deceased was found lying on the floor when he was discovered,” said DC Ian Vaevaso.

The postmortem has been conducted and forms part of the police investigation into this police investigation.
