Police arrest a suspect in relation to petrol bomb incident at Kukum

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station have arrested a male suspect in relation to the petrol bomb incident at Kukum recently.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr. Ian Vaevaso says, “The arrest was made on 25 July 2023 in a quick snap police operation and currently the suspect was on remand after court approved a remand application from the police.”

“The suspect was charged for multiple charges (possession of firearms, intimidation and malicious damage), appeared before the court, and will re-appear again before the Honiara Central Magistrate’s Court on 11 August 2023,” said Mr. Vaevaso.

DC Ian Vaevaso appeals to our good citizens that such an act is very dangerous and against our laws. There are ways to solve problems/disputes in our communities. Police will not tolerate people taking laws into their own hands and endangering the safety and peace of communities.
