Police confiscate about three thousand litres of homebrewed and destroy them in a latest raid at Alligator Creek area

As part of the Safe and Secure part of the Pacific Games 2023 (PG23), the officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have raided about three thousand litres of home brewed (kwaso) and destroyed them in a latest raid at Alligator Creek area this week.

Police Operation Commander (POC) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Corporate Support Mr Stanley Riolo said this raid is part of the clean-up campaign prior to the PG23 next week.

POC Commander Riolo said almost all communities in the Alligator area distilled kwaso in their own kitchen on a daily basis and sold them.

Commander Riolo said no suspects were arrested as everyone turned hostile to police and pretended as if they were innocent. Police warned those communities and asked them to abide by the law of the country.

Mr. Riolo said community leaders express their appreciation to Police for the outstanding job and appeal for more of such raids to be conducted to reduce disturbance in their communities.
