Police killed a 2.5 metre crocodile at Foxwood area
The Police Response Department (PRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has killed a 2.5 metre crocodile at Foxwood area last week.
Supervising Director PRD Inspector David Quiro said officers responded to a formal request made by a concerned community member who feared for the safety of people who lived around a creek at Foxwood.
Inspector Quiro said, “The crocodile was captured using a bait on a hook before it was killed (shot).”
“To our people who live close to the sea coasts, creeks and river banks, please always take extra precautions and beware of these predators,” said Director Quiro.
Mr. Quiro said, “If any community encounters a threat of crocodile please call in at any nearest police station and report it and my team will assist to control the threat posed.”
He said, “PRD is here to ensure our communities are safe from crocodile attacks.
