RSIPF and CSSI officers awarded with certificates in completion of four days POM training in Western Province

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) along with Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) officers have received certificates after completion of four days of Public Order Management (POM) training in Gizo, Western Province.

The training was conducted by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) instructors and RSIPF POM instructors.

Total of 42 officers were trained and 10 best trainees were awarded with gifts by CPLT instructors for their outstanding performance.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu asked officers to make use of what they have learned during the four days POM training.

PPC Lenialu said, “Officers please be accountable for those police operational equipment and POM Instructors please ensure thorough audits of those police operational equipment are maintained.”

Chief Superintendent Lenialu said, “The capacity and capability building is timely and critical to ensure police are more than prepared and capable to address any disorder that may arise and gear up officers in preparation for the upcoming National General Election 2024 (NGE24).”

Mr. Lenialu acknowledged the CPLT for their continued support and contribution to the RSIPF respectively to the Western Province Police for funding this training and donation of POM training including duty belts.

"Thank you officers for your commitment to this intensive training. Your commitment indicates that you are a capable team that stands together to respond to any disorder. Now the safety is guaranteed to the community whom we serve,” said Lenialu.

CPLT Deputy Team leader Li Bing congratulated every officer for completing the POM training and successfully receiving their certificates during the closing ceremony.

He added,

“It’s a testimony of your great efforts. The CPLT instructors are proud of your excellent performance and hard work. CPLT will continue to strengthen the policing cooperation and will constantly deepen the mutual trust and brotherhood friendship.”

PPC said, “Thank you to Hon. Premier Billy Veo and Provincial Secretary Western Province Patrick Toiraena for accepting our invitation to this closing ceremony. Your attendances grace the closing program.”
