Thirteen police officers promote to senior position within the RSIPF

Thirteen officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has promoted to senior positions within the RSIPF during Commissioners parade on 16 May 2024.

The promotion happened after the Police and Prison Service Commission has endorsed the promotion of 13 officers to the ranks of Inspector, Superintendent, Chief Superintendent and Assistant Commissioner.

Among the 13 newly promotions were two female officers who promoted to the rank of inspector positions.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau during his weekly parade said “I am pleased to announce the promotions, which have been endorsed by the Police and Prison Service Commission.

“To all officers who have been promoted, I extend my full congratulations to you and I look forward to welcoming you to the senior leadership team of the RSIPF,” Commissioner Mangau said.

Mr. Mangau said these promotions are very important to strengthen our leadership ranks in the RSIPF and help us guide the organisation into the future. Remember the high you promoted then you expect more responsibilities.

A newly promoted officer from Inspector to Chief Superintendent Mr. Tex Tafoa said promotion is not filling the gap. It comes with responsibilities and high expectations from the communities we serve.

“I assure you that we will contribute as a member of the RSIPF senior management team ensuring the organisation delivers its target,” Chief Superintendent Tafoa said.

The newly promoted officers are:

• Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), for the position of Assistant Commissioner for Provincial Policing.

• Inspector Tex Tafoa promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent, for the position of Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province.

• Inspector Berry Pogesopa promoted to rank of Superintendent, for the position of Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province.

• Inspector Kerry Sireheti promoted to the rank of Superintendent, for the position of Director International Affairs Department.

• Inspector Michael B. Ramosaea promoted to the rank of Superintendent, for the position of Operation Manager Malaita Province.

• Inspector Derick Naotoro promoted to the rank of Superintendent, for the position of Commanding Officer Patrol Boat Gizo.

• Inspector Jimmy Kubukana promoted to the rank of Superintendent, for the Position of Commanding Officer Patrol Boat Taro.

• Inspector Joseph Adler Iro promoted to the rank of Superintendent, for the position of Aide Camp to the Governor General.

• Staff Sergeant Andrea Kiere promoted to the rank of Inspector, for the position of Support Manager, Guadalcanal Police.

• Staff Sergeant Francis Paul Nai Promoted to the rank of Inspector, for the position of Chief Engineer, Police Maritime.

• Staff Sergeant Alice Roteku Hillary Promoted to the rank of Inspector, for the position of Shift In-Charge, Honiara City Police

• Staff Sergeant Polycarp Saliato promoted to the rank of Inspector, for the position of Provincial Criminal Investigation Officer (PCIO), Guadalcanal Province.

• Staff Sergeant Garnette Kwanairara promoted to the rank of Inspector, for the position of Officer In-Charge, Forensics Department.
