Sendoff service organized to pay respect to late Teilo

Late Teilo's Maritime colleagues pay their last respect

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) organised a send-off service to pay respect to late police sergeant Benjamin Teilo at the All Saint church, in Honiara last week.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said, “The sad news of the passing away of late Sergeant Teilo is really hard news for us RSIPF organization, family members, relatives and friends.”

Commissioner Mangau said, “I am lost for words to describe the sadness that all of us have experienced from the news of the passing away of one of our leaders.”

Mr. Mangau said, “Late Teilo was enlisted into the RSIPF as a recruit on 7th May 1990 at the age of 18 years old.”

Upon completion of the recruitment course he was posted to Surveillance Unit of the RSIPF on 18th December 1990 which is now known as Police Maritime Force.

“Teilo had served the RSIPF, the Government and people of Solomon Islands for 34 years. During his career with the RSIPF, he had made significant contributions to Maritime Police Force operational duties,” said Commissioner Mangau.

His death is not only a loss to his family, relatives and friends but also to the RSIPF. We have lost an expert and a well experienced person in his field.

We value the contributions that the Late Police Sergeant Teilo made to the RSIPF and the people of Solomon Islands. The past 34 years he served in the RSIPF was highly commendable. He was honoured by all ranks and files of the RSIPF for unselfishly giving his service to the people of this country by enlisting into the RSIPF in becoming a Police Officer.

RSIPF saluted him for his service to the people of Solomon Islands.
