Police thank public for good behaviour during 41st second appointed day celebration in Auki
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have commended the public for the good behaviour shown during the 41st second appointed day celebration in Auki on 15 August 2024.
The celebration, which started on 11 August with a mini trade show in Auki town, had no major security issues during the week.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Tex Tafoa said, “I wish to thank the good people of Malaita for the good behaviour demonstrated and the support provided in creating a safe environment.”
PPC Tafoa said, “Today you come to witness and celebrate the 41st second appointed day of our province and you have proven that you are a law abiding citizen. There is no major security issue during the week of celebration.”
Chief Superintendent Tafoa said, “No major incidents reported during the week, this shows that people have responded to the call made by police through media before the second appointed day. I must congratulate you all for taking responsibility in making this occasion a peaceful one.
Mr. Tafoa said, “I want to share a message to my good people to remember that the general security of our province is our business, security is our shared responsibility.”
“I really appreciate the general public working together with police in maintaining peace, law and order throughout the week and as PPC I am looking forward to working closely with you,” said PPC Tafoa.
