Police arrest two suspects for intimidation and assault incidents in WP

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Gizo have arrested two suspects for intimidation and assault incidents at Lale village in the Ranonga island, Western province, last week.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau said Gizo police left early in the morning on November 14, 2024, to arrest the two suspects but managed to arrest only one suspect while the other suspect surrendered himself to police later.

Commissioner Mangau said the Gizo police on several occasions attempted to arrest both suspects, but they escaped from police.

Mr. Mangau said after the arrest, police gathered the communities and conducted awareness on what the communities should do as we approach Christmas.

The court documents for the two suspects have been prepared, and they were bailed to appear before Gizo Magistrates’ Court on November 25, 2024.
