Mother and son arrested for damaging water tap supply in Central province

Tualgi police have arrested a 50-year-old mother and his 32-year-old son for damaging community water tap supply at Hagalu village in big Ngella, Central Province, on November 19, 2024.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Island Province, Superintendent David Soakai, said it was alleged that the mother helped his own son to do the damage to the community water tap.

PPC Soakai said the 32-year-old son uses a half-iron rod and weeps the tap water. He then pulls out the water tap stand, and he damages the pipe that supplies water from the main tank.

Superintendent Soakai said the matter was reported to police, and police responded and arrested the suspects. The suspects have been dealt with, and the police have prepared all necessary court documents for their trial on a later date.

“Please try to respect our community properties, though we have our personal issues in our own family settings. This incident denied other family members in our communities’ access to water,” said PPC Soakai.
