Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers in Auki have recently arrested a 37-year-old male for carrying about liquor for sale without license in Auki Malaita province.

Malaita Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Chief Superintendent Tex Tafoa says, “Frontline officers were approached and informed of the suspect’s doings by a concerned person who witnessed the exchange of money and the product.”

“When officers attended the report, the suspect tried to escape but was apprehended along with his bag containing more than 10 litres of kwaso.”

The suspect was charged with the offence of carrying about liquor for sale without license contrary to section 59(2) of the Liquor Act.

PPC Tafoa appeals to community elders, church leaders, parents and community members to work with police in making sure our kids are safe from using this product.
