Drunk husband bashed wife with an iron in Choiseul province

Taro police have arrested a drunk husband for bashing his wife with a piece of iron in a village in South Choiseul recently.

It was alleged that the husband is not happy with his wife due to some unwanted behaviours he observed during the New Year’s celebration.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Berry Pogesopa, said the suspect struck the victim with the iron on her hand and later on her head, which she sustains injury.

PPC Pogesopa said the victim was assisted to Sasamunga Hospital after the wounding incident for further medical treatment and later discharged.

Superintendent Pogesopa said police have arrested the suspect and dealt with and prepared his court documents for his court appearance. The suspect was bailed to appear before Taro Magistrate Court on a later date.
