Police arrests a suspect in his 30s for burning down two kitchens in Central Province
Tulagi police have arrested a male suspect in his 30s for burning down his own kitchen and his father’s kitchen at Beta village on 13 January 2025.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai, said it was alleged that the suspect was not happy after his plan to bring back his family from Nagotango Island was unsuccessful.
PPC Soakai said when he returned home by himself, anger began to build inside of him that led to the burning down of his own kitchen and his father’s kitchen.
Superintendent Soakai, the suspect, also went on and damaged their family water tank with an axe.
Mr. Soakai said the matter was reported to the police, where he was arrested and is currently under police custody for further investigation. All court documents have been prepared for his trial on a later date.
