Police attend two weeks training on MMC in Honiara

AFP’s Acting Commander Solomon Islands, Adam McCormack, presents his remarks during the opening program.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) from different police stations are here in the capital, Honiara, to attend a two-week middle management course (MMC) training program at Rove Police Academy.

RSIPF Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Corporate Support Mr. James Teilo said the MMC training program has officially opened on 4 February and will finish on 14 February 2025.

AC Teilo said this course is a vital step in preparing our middle managers for challenges of leadership within the RSIPF. Middle managers play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the police force, bridging gaps between senior leadership and frontline officers.

Supervising AC Teilo said effective leadership and decision-making at this level directly contribute to maintaining law and order, building community trust, and delivering quality policing services to our people.

Mr. Teilo has acknowledged the (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) for ongoing support to the capacity development of the RSIPF.

“I encourage you to embrace this learning opportunity. This course will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead with integrity, professionalism, and confidence. Leadership is not just about giving orders; it is about inspiring your teams, making decisions, and upholding the values of RSIPF,” said AC Teilo.
