Sixteen RSIPF officers promote to Sergeant and Senior Sergeant ranks

Sixteen officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have been promoted to the ranks of Sergeant and Senior Sergeant on 7 February 2025.

Eight officers were promoted to the rank of Sergeant while eight were elevated to Senior Sergeant positions. Among the newly promoted officers were three female officers who were promoted to sergeant.

Thirteen of the promoted officers have secured leadership positions in the provinces, while the other three remain in Honiara.

RSIPF Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau, said strong leadership of the police force at all levels is essential in ensuring that the RSIPF can safely and effectively protect the people of Solomon Islands and meet the national and international security obligations.

“Being a leader in the RSIPF means showing courage, working together and living up to the highest standards of integrity at all times. It needs hard work and requires commitment.

To all officers who have been promoted, I extend my full congratulations to you, and I look forward to seeing you take on your responsibilities effectively with pride,” Commissioner Mangau said.

He reminded the newly promoted officers that more responsibilities are entrusted to their shoulders in serving the people of Solomon Islands and upholding the laws of this country.
