Thirty officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province (GP) have undergone five days of police tactic training conducted by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) as the first training to be kicked off for this year, 2025.

The training was collaborated on along with the RSIPF instructors of the Operation Safety Training Unit, aiming to equip officers with skills and tactics to guide and to strengthen the safety concept and improve their operational capabilities.

The training content includes the use of batons and shields, body searches and handcuffs, defence control, vehicle inspections, mass incident handling, and first aid special training.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Simpson Pogeava and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr. Mathias Lenialu form part of the opening and closing ceremony where they highlighted the importance of the training provided by the CPLT.

AC Lenialu said this training will improve the police's ability to maintain social order, as CPLT will continue to provide professional, diverse, and targeted police training for RSIPF.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) GP Chief Superintendent Rodney Kuma says, “I want to acknowledge the CPLT for their continuous support rendered in offering capability trainings for my officers.”

PPC Kuma said GP police station is solely responsible for the whole Guadalcanal province and is required to have such training to ensure my officers are always ready when duty calls.
