EOD conducts multiple operations

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team conducted simultaneous operation across Solomon Islands.

EOD Supervising Director, Senior Sergeant Peter Ririvere, said two teams were sent out to Munda and Shortland Islands in Western Province and Taro in Choiseul Province.

EOD teams responded to reports from communities in Munda, Shortland Islands and Taro and were able to destroyed over 250 bombs.

Senior Sergeant Ririvere said these operations have demonstrated the EOD’s commitment and capability in making Solomon Islands safe from Unexploded Ordnance (UXOs).

REMEMBER! Do not touch anything that you think could be an UXO. Any sighting of UXO should be reported to the RSIPF EOD on 7495215 and 7495214 or any closest police station.
