In a significant step to enhance police cooperation between China and the Solomon Islands and improve the law enforcement capabilities of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), the CPLT launched a five-day police skills training program for officers of the Central Police Station- Response Unit (CRU) recently at Rove Police Headquarters.
The comprehensive training program covers a wide range of practical topics, including defensive control, use of police equipment, team coordination in operations, security inspection techniques, and first aid knowledge. A total of 21 officers are participating in the training.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Liu Shenghuang, Head of the CPLT; Mr. Ian Vaevaso, Deputy Commissioner of the RSIPF; senior management officials from the Central Police Station; and Mr. Elvis Manakako, Acting Director of the PRD.
In his opening remarks, Commissioner Liu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the RSIPF for its strong support in organizing the training. He emphasized that the program was tailored to meet the specific needs of the Central Police Station, aiming to provide practical and effective assistance to officers in their mission to safeguard the security of the Solomon Islands.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ian Vaevaso highly commended the CPLT for its efforts in conducting the training. He praised the CPLT's active contributions to enhancing the policing skills and criminal investigation capabilities of the RSIPF and urged participating officers to seize this valuable learning opportunity to improve their professional skills. Mr. Ian Vaevaso also expressed his hope for further deepening of bilateral police cooperation in the future, contributing to the stability and security of the Solomon Islands.
This training marks another important initiative by the CPLT in the Solomon Islands, reflecting the continuous deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the field of law enforcement and security. Such programs not only help elevate the law enforcement standards of the RSIPF but also inject new vitality into the friendly relations between China and the Solomon Islands.
Moving forward, both sides will maintain close communication on police exchanges and cooperation, working together to address various security challenges and contribute to regional peace and stability.
