CPLT and RSIPF Join Forces for Campus Crime Prevention Campaign in Solomon Islands

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Chinese Police Liaison Team (CPLT) recently conducted a crime prevention campaign at the G. S. FAISI Technical Vocational Education Training Centre in Honiara.

The event, themed "Reject Illegal Activities, Safeguard Campus Safety," drew over 200 participants, including teachers, students, and school staff. This is an effort to promote campus safety and youth development.

During the campaign, officers from the CPLT and RSIPF addressed prevalent criminal behaviours among teenagers, such as campus bullying, drug abuse, alcoholism, and cyber violence. Through real-life case studies, they provided a comprehensive analysis of the detrimental effects these activities have on the physical and mental well-being of young people. The officers also shared practical strategies for preventing and responding to illegal activities, urging students to enhance their self-protection awareness, adopt positive values, and actively resist unlawful behaviour.

The event struck a chord with attendees, sparking meaningful reflections among students. "I used to think it was no big deal when I saw my friends smoking or drinking," shared one student. "But after today's session, I realize how harmful these behaviors are. From now on, I will not only avoid them myself but also encourage my friends to stay away."

Teachers at the institution praised the initiative for its relevance and impact. "This campaign is both timely and practical," remarked one educator.

"It offers fresh perspectives and tools for our ongoing efforts to guide students. We are deeply appreciative of the professional insights provided by the CPLT and RSIPF."

In a gesture of support for youth development, the CPLT donated a collection of cultural and sports supplies to the school following the event. Aim to enrich students' extracurricular activities and encourage the adoption of healthy, positive, and proactive lifestyles, fostering their overall growth.

This campaign underscores the deepening collaboration between China and the Solomon Islands in strengthening public safety and creating a secure environment for the younger generation. It reflects a shared commitment to nurturing well-rounded, law-abiding citizens and building a brighter future for the community.
