NCPD and New Zealand Police train Buala police on mindset plus and cybercrime

Buala police officers during training

The National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and New Zealand Police (NZP) have recently conducted a training on mindset plus and cybercrime for Buala police in Isabel Province.

The refresher trainings focused on developing high-performing and capable teams, enhancing community engagement, and implementing crime prevention strategies.

With the ever-growing technology and access to the internet, users need to be more informed and cautious of what type of information they put out there on social media and the risk of being exploited and scammed.

The team visited Nareaby village, where they delivered an awareness talk on the five drivers of crime and the need for police and community leaders’ collaboration. NZP under the Solomon Island Police Support Program gifted the Nareaby community with sports equipment.

The training and awareness program were supported by the NZP through the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme (SIPSP).
