RSIPF and CPLT engage with the Koa Hill community in sport activities

The National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) have engaged in sports activities with the Koa Hill community this week.

The aim of the community engagement is to improve community confidence and trust in RSIPF and revisit the Crime Prevention Committee and work together to prevent crime.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) of National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP), Mr. Simpson Pogeava, said they organized a friendly soccer match for men and volleyball for women.

During the community engagement, AC Pogeava called on the community to participate in sports and stay away from illegal activities that may disturb peace in our communities.

AC NCCP Mr. Pogeava said after a fierce battle of two days of knock competition, the winner walked away with their prize of a solar lamp set and T-shirts.

Mr. Pogeava said at the games' closing program CPLT donated T-shirts, soccer balls, rugby and volleyball nets, and balls to the Koa Hill community.

A community leader, Mr. Edwin Tuhunua,

acknowledges both CPLT and NCPD for conducting community engagement in their community, which brings a sense of working together to avoid crime in our communities.

Mr. Tuhunua is looking forward to working closely with the police, and he requests, if possible, to organize another event on 7 July 2025 during Solomon Islands Independence Day.
