Police arrest an 18-year-old male suspect in relation to the alleged murder of a 29-year-old woman in Guadalcanal Plains

Tetere Police have arrested a murder suspect for the alleged murder of a 29-year-old woman from Malaita in the cocoa area (old CDC4) close to GPPOL II area in north Guadalcanal on 25 May 2025.

The 18-year-old murder suspect is from Kune village in the Kolona area at the GPPOL III boundary area and part Boe village in south Choiseul.

The sad incident occurred when the deceased was alone washing at a well a little far from their home.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Superintendent Edwin Sevoa said the suspect has been dealt with, and police are working on his remand application while the investigation is ongoing.

PPC Sevoa appeals to parties involved in this sad incident to stay calm while police investigate the matter and liaise with responsible leaders to deal with the matter.

Superintendent Sevoa also thanked the community leaders for their support for the arrest of the suspect.

Without our community leaders, police will not be able to arrest the suspect quickly.

Police share condolences with the friends, relatives, and immediate members for the loss of their loved one.
