Drunk wife stabs husband with a kitchen knife in Honiara

A drunk wife stabbed her husband with a seven-inch kitchen knife during a heated argument at Nggosi in west Honiara on 26 May 2025.

Officer Commanding Station (OCS) White River Police Station Inspector Doreen Vaea said the husband claimed his wife had an affair with another man, and this is where the argument came about.

Inspector Vaea said the wife was not happy during the argument, so she allegedly stabbed her husband on his left-hand shoulder with the knife.

OCS Vaea said the stab was serious but stable when the victim attended the National Referral Hospital for medication.

Ms. Vaea said the husband was not happy with his wife,

so he called in at the Central Police Station and reported the matter, and the police arrested the suspect and dealt with her.

She said police are working on the suspect's remand application to remand her while the investigation is ongoing into the matter.
