Police will check for prohibited items during SC25 final
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) would like to remind good citizens to be mindful not to bring any dangerous or prohibited items during the Solomon Cup 2025 (SC25) final at the National Stadium.
Forward Commander (FC) SC25 Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo said, “Police will heavily check for dangerous weapons like axes, scissors, broken glasses, screwdrivers, kitchen knives, and slings at the entry gate to the game venue.
Chief Superintendent Robo said, “Matches, lighters, beetle nuts, beer, and body perfume are not allowed into the game venue. Please keep your valuable items at home to avoid frustration when checked at the game venue entry.
Commander Robo said, “If you are one of those people who usually carry such items around in your bag, you are reminded that they will be confiscated at the entrance gate.
“A good number of police officers will be deployed to the game’s venue for the grand final. This also includes the Central Response Unit (CRU) and Police Response Team (PRT) to provide an outer cordon during the games,” he said.
The National Traffic Department will also form part of the operation, but they will work on their own Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Chief Superintendent Robo appeals to
sport-loving people to come and give moral support to our teams with the spirit of sportsmanship. We are a sport-loving people. Come and give support but with a spirit of sportsmanship.
“Remember! People who may wish not to adhere to this message and take the law into their own hands by disturbing the games, the police will deal with them by the full force of the law,” said Mr. Robo.
