Police arrests a 20-year-old male suspect for assaulting a 20-year-old male victim in Auki town
Auki police have arrested a 20-year-old male suspect for assaulting a 20-year-old male victim at the Faasitoro Heights area in Auki on 25 July 2025.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Romosaea, said it was alleged that the suspect was not happy with the victim following a previous argument.
PPC Ramosaea said when he saw the victim walk towards his uncle’s residence, the suspect moved towards the victim and punched him in his face, and the victim sustained an injury.
Superintendent Ramosaea said upon receiving the report, Auki police responded and arrested the suspect and placed him in police custody and dealt with him.
Mr. Ramosaea, said the suspect, will be charged for the offense of assault causing actual bodily harm contrary to section 245 of the Penal Code.
“I appeal to the community leaders at Faasitoro, especially the parents, to take on responsibilities and take care of their children. Sad to see that parents do not have control over their children. Youths seem engaged in a lot of antisocial activities and common nuisances,” said PPC Romosaea.
