The Police Response Department (PRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has conducted Public Order Management (POM) refresher training for Taro police in Choiseul Province recently as police prepare for the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) meeting in September 2025.
These efforts aim to strengthen officers’ capabilities in POM and Operational Safety Training (OST) to support Western Province to provide security in Noro, where the retreat will be happening.
PRD training teams, supported by two advisors from the RSIPF-Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), delivered a five-day training program.
The training focused on key operational skills necessary to ensure community safety and effective response to public order situations.
During the visit, RAPPP Advisors held a meeting with the Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Choiseul Province, Superintendent Berry Bogesopa, and his operations Manager to better understand local policing needs and priorities.
This initiative shows the ongoing commitment and strong collaboration through RAPPP, aimed at enhancing policing capabilities and ensuring safety and security throughout the Solomon Islands.
