An adult male suspect was arrested for an intimidation incident in Central Province

Tulagi police have arrested an adult male suspect for intimidating a 12-year-old girl at Vuturua village, small Ngella, Central Province, on 11 November 2025.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai, said it was alleged that the suspect disagreed with the 12-year-old girl about the ownership of a cut nut tree (Barringtonia edulis), which the victim should have asked him about before picking up its nuts.

PPC Saokai said while the victim was collecting the cut nut, the suspect walked to the victim with a bush knife and intimidated her.

Superintendent Soakai said the victim screamed in fear, standing still with panic. Seeing the action done by the suspect, she cried. Luckily, the victim’s elder sister shouted at the suspect, and he walked away from the victim.

The suspect was arrested and dealt with. He was released on bail and will appear before the court on a later date.
