RAPPP Boosts RSIPF Aviation with Second All-Terrain Vehicle

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Aviation Unit has strengthened its operational capability with the addition of a second All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), generously provided through the RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The new ATV enhances the unit’s ability to patrol, respond, and maintain safety across the challenging airside environment of Honiara International Airport. It complements the first ATV gifted prior to PIF25, enabling the Aviation Unit to operate more efficiently during busy periods and special operations.

Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of RSIPF Aviation, Baddley GADA, said the second ATV will directly improve the team’s mobility and emergency response.

“With this additional vehicle, we can deploy multiple officers across the airfield simultaneously, conduct regular perimeter patrols, and respond quickly to any incident,” said OIC GADA. “It represents a significant step forward in improving aviation safety and operational effectiveness.”

RAPPP Aviation Advisor Phill Anderson said the donation reflects the partnership’s ongoing commitment to building RSIPF’s specialised policing capabilities.

“The ATV equips officers with the tools they need to safeguard key national infrastructure while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency,” said ANDERSON. “The Aviation Unit continues to show strong professionalism, and we are proud to support their development.”

The vehicle will be used for daily airside patrols, rapid incident response, and safe movement of personnel and equipment. Its addition significantly enhances the unit’s mobility, operational readiness, and resilience.

This latest contribution highlights RAPPP’s enduring support to RSIPF in building strong, locally led policing capabilities in specialised operational environments, ensuring the force is prepared and equipped to meet the demands of modern policing.
