RSIPF Fire and Rescue Service successfully completed an intensive training program on firefighting and rescue in Honiara
Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) of National Operations Mr Francis Ramoni gives his remarks during the closing ceremony of the firefighting and rescue training in Honiara.
Thirty-five officers from the Fire and Rescue Services of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have successfully completed a one-week intensive firefighting and rescue training in Honiara.
The training programe commenced on 17 November and concluded on 21 November 2025 with a certificate presentation.
The training was facilitated by the Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) with the support from RSIPF Fire and Rescue Services instructors.
Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operations Mr. Francis Ramoni during the closing ceremony said this training is critically important as it enhances our ability to respond to a wide range of emergencies that challenge our communities today.
Supervising AC Ramoni said whether dealing with structural fires, complex rescues, or natural disasters, the knowledge gained here ensures that the RSIPF Fire and Rescue Service remains capable, confident, and prepared.
AC Ramoni said, "Participants, you have gained valuable hands-on experience, improved tactical awareness, and strengthened teamwork—skills that will undoubtedly contribute to safer, more effective operations." This training has also built confidence in working under pressure and making sound decisions in dynamic environments.
Mr. Ramoni said, “The skills learnt here—
teamwork, discipline, situational awareness, incident management, and operational condition—are essential qualities for any firefighter.
These improvements will translate directly into safer operations, quicker response times, and greater protection for our people, our assets, and our nation.”
He sincerely acknowledges the strong and ongoing partnership between the RSIPF and FRNSW. Through your provision of expert training, guidance, and essential equipment, you have significantly enhanced the operational capabilities of our firefighters and strengthened our service’s readiness to protect and serve the community.
